The Team – your impact
The "Technology & Engineering – Data & AI Engineering" chapter brings together experts who deliver cutting-edge data and AI engineering capabilities to our product teams. We focus on enhancing functional skills, improving E.ON's MLOps tech stack, and delivering high-quality data and model automation.
Your Role – meaningful & rewarding
As an AI Engineer (f/m/d), you will play a crucial role in developing and deploying a cutting-edge enterprise and customer engagement platform that leverages Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), AI agents and other advanced AI techniques to significantly improve IT efficiency.
Design and Implementation:
- Design and build an intelligent search engine that utilizes RAG to provide accurate and comprehensive search results
- Develop AI agents that can autonomously perform tasks based on user queries and retrieved information
- Define workflows and fine-tune prompts according to use-case specific requirements
- Implement AI-powered solutions to automate IT processes, such as incident resolution, knowledge base management, and documentation retrieval
Data Engineering:
- Design and manage data ingestion pipelines to effectively index and process relevant IT data sources (e.g. documentation, knowledge bases, incident tickets)
- Develop and maintain data pipelines for continuous improvement of search relevance and accuracy
Cloud Expertise:
- Work with multi-cloud environments to deploy and manage the search engine infrastructure
Innovation & Collaboration:
- Collaborate with IT teams, data scientists, and product managers to understand their search needs and identify opportunities for AI-powered solutions
- Conduct research and stay updated with the latest advancements in AI search, LLM applications, and agent technologies
- Continuously evaluate and improve the performance and effectiveness of the search engine
Your Profile – authentic & open-minded
Proven Experience: 3-5 years of experience as a Machine Learning Engineer, Data Scientist, AI Engineer, or a related role with a strong focus on LLM applications, NLP, and MLOps.
Technical Proficiency:
- Strong software engineering skills in Python, with focus on back-end engineering for complex, data-intensive applications
- Experience with LLM libraries (e.g., Hugging Face Transformers) and frameworks like LangChain
- Experience with prompt engineering techniques for LLMs
- Familiarity with vector databases
- Experience with data ingestion pipelines, custom connectors, and data integration techniques
- Familiarity with multi-cloud environments and cloud platforms (Azure, Google Cloud, etc.)
Key Attributes:
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced, agile environment
- Strong interest in learning new technologies and adapting to evolving industry best practices
Additional Factors:
- Experience with building and deploying search engines or knowledge management systems
- Experience with relevant libraries and frameworks (e.g., Elasticsearch, OpenAI, Hugging Face Transformers)
- Contributions to open-source projects or a strong personal portfolio demonstrating AI/ML skills
