The Team – your impact

Global Technology Platforms (GTP) is part of Technology Group. GTP builds, maintains, and continuously improves global scalable platforms for the E.ON group enabling product teams to focus on value-adding products built on top of efficient, resilient, and highly automated platforms. As part of our transition towards a product centric cloud-operating model (Nautilus), we will continue our close alignment and cooperation with the Business and Business IT colleagues, to make full use of all capabilities and technologies providing a stable foundation and end-to-end global platforms.

Within GTP we are seeking a highly skilled and visionary leader (f/m/d) to join our team as Head of Domain Observability (f/m/d). This role is pivotal in driving the strategic direction, technological advancement, and operational excellence of the overall Integration & Process Automation domain area. The successful candidate (f/m/d) will lead a diverse team of around 10-15 professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, efficiency, and collaboration and will report to the Integration & Process Automation domain area head.

Your Role – meaningful & rewarding

  • You are responsible for the domain “Observability” in the domain area “Integration & Process Automation”, providing visionary leadership, coaching and support in specific technologies and innovations
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to align domain goals with overall business objectives, enhance operational workflows and processes
  • Provide continuous feedback, conduct performance evaluations and develop the individual members of your team
  • Transforming structures into our new operating model (Nautilus), driving agility and DevOps practices and culture together with your team
  • Responsibility for the product team Lumos, to ensure the Lumos adoption across E.ONs IT product landscape

  • Ensure the strategic decommissioning of the legacy monitoring platforms “Splunk” and “AppDynamics” by end of 2025 in close alignment with using business product teams

  • Follow and assess new trends and technologies in ​​observability

Your Profile – authentic & open-minded

  • Proven experience in a technology leadership role and operational responsibilities, combined with a passion for data and observability

  • Ability to collaborate with business leaders on all levels to understand requirements, how they translate into technical capabilities in order to resolve prioritization conflicts and ensure alignment with strategic objects

  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills

  • Challenger mindset, able to throw old ways of working overboard and openness to new topics combined with out-of-the-box thinking
  • Experience in change management and guiding teams and individuals through their change journey

  • You have experience and knowledge in cloud native technology stacks, Infrastructure as a Code, automation technologies as well as serverless technologies

  • Fluent in English

  • Willingness to travel
