A Snapshot of Your Day
Do you like to tackle problems that help others and provide the best support regarding Materials possible to our products within Siemens Energy, especially for our Large Gas and Steam Turbine products?

The primary focus of this position is developing concepts for materials- and substance-related data driven tools, implement them or guide their implementation as well as maintain data in these tools. This includes sophisticated development of an existing Alteryx-based tool landscape, definition of requirements for future Teamcenter- and SAP-integrated solutions, as well as acting as contact person for component engineering for materials and process specific questions. Primary initial working area will be Materials Compliance and Substance Management (e.g., fulfilling EU REACH regulation) as well as Materials Management for Large Gas Turbine design.

You'll join a team of engineers, using your technical expertise to support the digitalization of materials engineering and ensure legal compliance in substance management. In this context, you will play a decisive role while constantly move forward our materials landscape.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Contribution to Requirements Engineering for materials management and substance compliance for future Teamcenter and SAP systems in a Siemens Energy wide teamwork
  • Development of engineering tools to investigate Siemens Energy crafted components for Substances of Very High Concern
  • Coordinate Substance Compliance activities in Large Gas Turbine Engineering
  • Definition and management of project schedule, achievements, and budget
  • Support of component design in urgent substance-compliance-related consultancy


What You Bring

  • PhD Engineering or Master of Science in Computer Science in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Data Science, Physics, Materials Science, Chemistry, or another similar field
  • 5 to 8 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience
  • Knowledge of database structures and processes
  • Software programming languages/digitalization tools (e.g. Alteryx, Snowflake Python, C++, R, Fortran, VBA, etc.)
  • Very good project management skills (including handling sophisticated topics in a dynamic environment, settings priorities)
  • Excellent team skills with effective communication & social skills to blend in a multicultural and cross-regional working team, but also like to work independently
  • Advanced English and German skills
  • Basic Overview of material engineering including knowledge of material naming schemes and basic understanding of substance compliance regulations (e.g., REACH, SCIP), gas turbine and steam turbine design

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
