A Snapshot of Your Day
As part of a dynamic global sales support team, your day will revolve around managing the technical and commercial aspects of compressor packages for Single Shaft and Integrally Geared installations. You'll start by reviewing customer specifications, preparing bid documents, and ensuring technical and cost alignment through the creation of detailed drawings, P&IDs, and noise calculations. Working closely with the bid management team, you will collaborate on crafting competitive technical offers, addressing vendor inquiries, and optimizing costs while ensuring consistency to industry standards.

In addition, you'll lead technical clarifications with both clients and suppliers, offering expertise and innovative solutions to prevent non-conformances and enhance proposal quality. Your role will bridge the gap between the sales process and order engineering, ensuring a seamless handover and aligning with global engineering teams to incorporate the latest technological developments into your proposals. How You'll Make an Impact

  • Preparation of technical and commercial offers for Single Shaft and Integrally Geared Compressor installations, including review of specifications, technical clarifications, cost estimates, and creation of documents such as general arrangement drawings, P&IDs, and noise calculations
  • Management of technical and commercial aspects for compressor packages and installations, including process and auxiliary piping, base plates, steel structures, heat exchangers, filtration systems, and noise attenuation
  • Collaboration with the global Bid Management organization to develop technical offers and align on bid strategies
  • Specification and inquiry of externally purchased equipment, technical evaluation of vendor quotes, and implementation of cost optimization measures
  • Development of General Arrangement Drawings in cooperation with the drafting team
  • Participation in technical clarification meetings with customers and suppliers, both in person and remotely
  • Integration of new developments into technical proposals, ensuring feasibility through coordination with the global engineering community
  • Prevention of non-conformances through innovation, application of lessons learned, and implementation of cost-effective solutions, as well as facilitation of the handover process from Front End to Order Engineering


What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Over 3 years of experience in Rotating Equipment or Plant Design within Oil & Gas or other Process Industry applications, with roles in Proposals or Order Engineering; candidates with more experience may be considered for a more senior position
  • Strong technical background in package components such as piping, valves, coupling guards, enclosures, filters, scrubbers, and heat exchangers preferred
  • Knowledge in designing supporting steel structures and base plates for rotating equipment, with a general understanding of structural mechanics
  • Experience in cost reduction initiatives and sales-oriented activities, including technical discussions with customers
  • Familiarity with industry standards like API or NORSOK, customer specifications, and the ability to extract requirements for design adjustments and product costing
  • Proactive, flexible, self-motivated, and open-minded team player with intercultural experience and a commitment to continuous learning
  • Legal authorization for employment in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization; Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers
