As a Senior Category Manager you will report directly into the Team Lead for Software & SaaS. This exciting new opportunity within the refreshed IT/OT Procurement and Supplier Management team will give you the first hand opportunity to be a part of a global team and contribute to innovative projects across all of RWE's businesses including Renewables, Energy Trading and much more.

The role:

• Using deep IT knowledge, you will carry out large or complex RFx process to deliver our strategic plan (as prepared by the Global Category Manager)
• Proficiently moderating our procurement and RFX processes to deliver the highest potential value-add
• Having an expert understanding of global IT markets and relevant IT/OT trends as well as relevant emerging technologies and overall supply chain risks/opportunities
• eSourcing and eAuction systems will be easily applied by you, maintaining standardized bidding templates for efficient sourcing execution
• Preparing and executing of your sub-category tender plan to ensure spend is under contract
• Ensuring that supply risk is reduced by generating accurate insights on relevant supply market risks, assess probability of occurrence, plan and evaluate mitigation actions working with the respective Global Category Manager and other stakeholders
• Interfacing with our IT/OT Supplier Management team will ensure good supplier performance against our contracts
• Based on your expertise, improving IT/OT requirements will be second nature to you, in order to improve the overall outcomes for RWE

Job requirements and experience:

• Deep experience in all tender related procurement practices
• Relevant IT/OT supply market knowledge, with an interest to keep abreast on current trends and threats
• Expert knowledge of P2P and e-Sourcing platforms, with a good knowledge of relevant financial principles
• Positive influencing, and negotiation skills
• High organisational, change and project management skills allow you to deliver to schedule/targets, guide stakeholders through tender processes, but also work directly with others to find win-win solutions
• Willingness to travel to our operational/office sites and key suppliers
• Excellent proficiency in English; German language skills beneficial but not essential
