The IT Programs Team at RWE AG is responsible for overarching, strategic, and operational IT projects, including active collaboration with transformation experts to drive sustainable change. As an experienced IT Project Manager, you are responsible for the successful implementation of IT projects, the involvement of all relevant stakeholders, and the continuous improvement and refinement of project management standards.

About the role

  • Manage complex, strategic and operational IT projects across RWE AG or support RWE OpCo's projects, from initiation to closure.
  • Independent deliver on planning, budgeting, staffing, monitoring and reporting on projects and ensure alignment with the IT strategy and business objectives.
  • Use of project management processes and standards as well as the transfer of knowledge to project members.
  • Communicate effectively with all project stakeholders, management and cross-functional project members, both internal and external.
  • Work closely with the Corporate Transformation team to implement sustainable changes in complex projects.
  • Drive operational excellence within the IT department and the wider business.

Job requirements and experience

  • A master's degree or higher in IT, business, or a related field combined with a certification in a recognised project management methodology (such as IPMA, Scrum, or PRINCE2) and change management methodologies (such as Lean or GreenBelt).
  • At least 5 years of experience in IT project management, preferably in a large and complex organisation.
  • Proven track record of leading and delivering successful IT projects, such as M&A integration, strategy, digitalisation or comparable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders, incl. top management.
  • High adaptability, flexibility and resilience, with the ability to manage multiple projects and cope with ambiguity and change.
  • Fluent in English and German, both written and spoken.

Advantageous, but not essential

  • Ideally IT background and understanding of IT systems, architectures and technologies.
