Join our dynamic team at Commercial Asset Optimisation (CAO) - Continental Europe and be a key player in shaping the future of RWE's power-producing assets in Continental Europe. At the heart of the energy transition, we manage an evolving asset and contract portfolio, embracing new technologies and navigating rapid regulatory changes.

As part of the "Product Management and New Business" team you will contribute to the transformation of CAO, optimising end-to-end processes, collaborating with various departments, especially IT, and ensuring a flexible and scalable setup for new and existing business lines. We're leading the charge in sales processes for green and flexible products, offering a scalable standard product suite.

About the role
As a Product Manager you will be responsible for the following areas:

  • Expand Customer Portfolio in the Netherlands:
    • Increase our external customer base through strategic initiatives.
    • Maintain relationships with existing clients, attend industry events, and develop effective marketing strategies.
    • Identify and cultivate new leads and customers.
  • Contract Negotiation and Standards Improvement:
    • Independently negotiate contracts and contribute to the continuous improvement of standards.
    • Ensure adherence to industry best practices.
  • New Business Development: Innovate and develop new business and products.
  • Sales Expertise:
    • Act as a sales expert for flexibility products, including batteries, industrial load, and decentral generation.
    • Manage sales activities for our green portfolio within the liquid tenor, covering PPA, direct marketing, and route-to-market contracts.
  • Market Expansion: Expand our business in further European countries, primarily in the Netherlands.
  • Process Optimisation: Analyse and optimise our business line processes together with our CAO desks and IT with your end-to-end view on organisation, processes and systems.

Job requirements and experience

  • University degree in economics, business studies, finance, engineering.
  • Professional experience or completion of a graduate program alternatively.
  • Ability to independently manage customers and internal stakeholders and negotiate contracts.
  • Strong interest in the economics of the electricity market and in the operational and technical concepts of power assets.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to simplify complexity and to influence decisions.
  • End-to-end thinking and experience with analysing and modelling of complex processes.
  • Experience with "green" power markets and / or marketing of flexible generation.
  • Proficiency in both English and Dutch.

Advantageous, but not essential

  • German or further languages advantageous but not a must have.
