Let's enable our growth strategy at RWE Supply & Trading GmbH (RWEST) together. Reporting to the Head of Market Data Governance & Licensing, you will lead the Commercial Market Data Licensing team. Working on a daily basis with stakeholders across our global business, we act as a single face to the external market for third party market data services and newsletters.

Although the team sit in RWEST, they are responsible across the RWE Group for the all commercial aspects in the procurement, administration (including handling the invoices & allocation) and distribution of all market data services. The team sits within the Trading Affairs and Operations function which reports to the Chief Executive Officer of RWE Supply & Trading GmbH. The team is largely based at the RWE Campus in Essen with one colleague in United Kingdom. We support commercial Front Office Desks across the world with main locations in Germany, United Kingdom, USA and Singapore.

About the role

  • Lead and direct our established international team of Market Data Contract experts, in order to deliver the best outcome for the organisation and to meet all reporting obligations on time.
  • HR responsibility for the team ensuring they feel empowered and supported to grow personally, whilst deliver the most value for the business.
  • Define targets and development plans for the team, hire of new staff, and when and if necessary deal with any disciplinary topics in conjunction with the Head of Market Data Governance and Licencing.
  • Foster a safe and consistent atmosphere for the team.
  • Accountable for resource management to ensure there is good workload management optimised to deliver the service to our internal and external customers.
  • Deliver towards our Market Data Strategy and support department and group wide projects related to Commercial Market Data Licensing and its processes e.g. integration of new business areas or new SAP S4/Hana.
  • Role modelling in the RWE essential behaviours.
  • Support the Head of Market Data Governance and Licencing in maintaining the Team relevance and Fit4 Future.
  • Responsibility for all Commercial Market Data Licensing activities RWE group wide including, but not limited to, all related vendor contract management, invoice validation, cost allocation and permission processes.
  • Support team members in times of escalation; you will be a key relationship manager and negotiator with Market Data service providers, ensuring RWE is always getting the best deal possible.
  • Build and maintain relationships with all data users at all levels, further supporting the team in their interactions.
  • Develop and ensure robust and high quality services and lean processes towards RWE users of Market Data.
  • Maintain a close and successful relationship with internal Market Data related functions, ie Legal, Risk and IT.
  • Manage budget planning, related cost allocation and SLA for all purchased market data and services across the group.

Job requirements and experience

  • Advanced expert negotiation skills with at least 10 years Market Data Procurement experience.
  • Excellent Leadership skills, with ability to bridge between the team and wider business.
  • Very strong communication skills with ability to adapt style based on the interlocuters.
  • Solution orientated working style with a passion for delivering quick, appropriate and sustainable solutions and services to challenging customers.
  • Open and constructive way of dealing with issues or escalations.
  • Able to develop and maintain a strategic "big picture" and balance this against daily activities.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
  • Proactive and motivated with strong organisation skills.
  • Technical Skills: Calero MDSL / MDM.
  • Fluent English.

Advantageous, but not essential

  • Already some experience in running teams with proven record of successful delivery.
  • Technical Skills: SAP
